About The Editors
Jason LeValley
Editor-in-Chief, Publisher and Founder
Jason LeValley grew up in Central Phoenix and spent much of his life in California and Tucson, where he founded an award-winning, independent radio station.
During his tenure as the Executive Director of the station, KTDT, LeValley organized, promoted, and managed a series of “Psych-Out” concerts featuring top neo-psych acts like Sugar Candy Mountain, Mute Swan, and The Myrrors. He also orchestrated the thirty-year reunion show for 80s psych band The Marshmallow Overcoat, where he met future Psychedelic Scene editor/tech guru Bill Kurzenberger.
He received a Masters in Counseling from Santa Clara University. Jason, a musicologist and psychonaut, launched Psychedelic Scene in April 2021. He’s also been a regular contributor to the Phoenix New Times music section since March 2025.

Bill Kurzenberger
Editor-at-Large, Tech Guru
Bill Kurzenberger has been with Psychedelic Scene since its inception as contributor, Tech Guru, former assistant editor, interim Editor-in-Chief, now starting a new position as the magazine’s Editor-at-Large. As an established musician Kurzenberger has released three studio albums with a fourth underway. Over a few decades with various acts he has performed over a thousand live concerts from Ohio and Great Lakes states to the Southwest U.S. as a solo artist and veteran of fifteen Ohio-based bands like Terrapin Moon, and appearing with national acts including The Marshmallow Overcoat and The Englishtown Project.
Bill also volunteers his time for the local community including as a head of entertainment for Columbus’s signature Community Festival. As this magazine’s Tech Guru, Kurzenberger is a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator and is also sole proprietor of a small tech company providing technical services to central Ohio.
