Artist Spotlight: Ali Jardine

Visual artist Ali Jardine– no relation to the original Beach Boys member Al Jardine— has an impressive 406,000 followers on Instagram.

Jardine, who was born in Mississippi on November 10th, 1972, uses an iPhone to create her video art, cinemagraphs, and photography. Her work has been featured in top publications like National Geographic, Yahoo News, Fortune Magazine, and the Daily Mail.

She creates visual scenarios that illustrate the beauty and surrealism of nature and sometimes uses the Alice in Wonderland and Dorothy in Oz mythos to conjure a sense of awe and mystique. She frequently features the Amanita Muscaria mushroom in her work.
