Artist Spotlight: Neonsense

Neonsense, aka Kyle, is a 29 year-old male, from Michigan, USA, who’s been making psychedelic digital art for three years, varying his art styles from complex pattern warping, to optical illusions, to soft, vauge textures.

Music is integral to his artistic expression with every digital piece he makes getting a song attached to it and saved on his Instagram story archive. His biggest musical influences are Com Truise and Boards of Canada.

From a young age, Neonsense was influenced by random optical illusion art as well as Alex Grey’s visionary work. After having a few of his own psychedelic visions, he desired to capture it and show it to people somehow. He came across the Glitch Lab, Mirror Lab, and Chroma Lab apps, and started creating. His Instagram following increased rapidly in the past 5 months from a thousand to approximately 24,000. “I think of my art similarly to how I experience music, as a snapshot from another universe, where there’s just one feeling happening forever, in a vauge, yet familiar way.

Additionally, Neonsense loves riding freestylye BMX, something he’s been doing since he was a kid.
