2025 Year In Review

2025 has been a substantial year for Psychedelic Scene! This year the magazine published over one hundred articles spotlighting psych music, concerts, interviews, research, films and artwork. Thirty different writers have provided an expansive multi-cultural perspective of the panoramic world of psychedelia for its readers this year alone.

During the past twelve months of positive growth and upward mobility the magazine endured changes in editorial duties, podcast hosts and website platforms.  Entering 2026, its re-energized editors have redefined roles that best suit the publication, its contributors and readers.

Psychedelic Scene masthead, staff & contributors

In spring of 2021, Jason LeValley founded Psychedelic Scene and developed it into the leading resource for psych music, art, interviews, films, books, and research that it is today. For its first four years Jason served as its Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, seconded by Bill Kurzenberger as Assistant Editor and Tech Guru. As LeValley accepted a job opportunity with a prominent pop-culture music & screening outfit this past summer, he promoted Kurzenberger to Editor-in-Chief while remaining its publisher. Now as Psych. Scene enters its sixth year in 2026, Jason has resumed chief editorial duties while Bill graciously assumes the new role of Editor-at-Large.

With the Psychedelic Scene Podcast‘s third season well underway, its new host Jill Sitnick has rejuvenated it with exciting guests and captivating topics! Now available on additional podcasting platforms, the new episodes are published every other Friday with Season 3 Episode 4 premiering January 2nd, 2026.

As the magazine has increased viewers over time, last summer its website encountered a few outages and growing pains. Along with the blossoming content and wider mainstream acceptance of psychedelics, the magazine’s readers have grown significantly in numbers.  The editors thank Wyatt Simpson for his web administration duties behind the scenes. Lastly starting this holiday season, there is a brand-new Psychedelic Scene Shop full of eye-popping merchandise.  If you haven’t gotten your merch yet, hurry!  The shop won’t be there much longer.

This year’s summary of all things psych-related has been organized by new releases & concert reviews; interviews including new podcast episodes; artistic spotlights & vivid visuals; and more serious and scientific perspectives into hallucinogens spanning the western and eastern hemispheres.  Thank you to all of the magazine’s readers, and this year’s writers & contributors who are each credited below.
